Complete Chaos

It is early Sunday morning and I am already procrastinating...I have no idea where to start. The past 2 months, everything has been turned upside down and I have never felt so unorganized and uncomfortable. I haven't added a personal blog in some time so I figured what better place to vent.

Let's start with this "pregnancy thing." Rob and I are very excited and eagerly anticipate the arrival of Tyler (Ty) Michael. I am 31-32 weeks (the middle picture is 27 weeks) at this point and we are in the home stretch. As of 31 weeks, Tyler weighed 4.5 pounds....he is huge! People deliver babies that are 4-5 lbs and Tyler still has 8 weeks to grow! My husband was hoping for a football star...he might get a sumo wrestler instead.
I have high levels of amniotic fluid and a weird antibody called Anti-S. So lucky for me, I get to go to the hospital twice a week for a non-stress test, once a week for a dopplar ultrasound and once a week to the regular baby doctor.....I would be ok if I never saw a doctor's office or hospital again! Ty is very healthly and always passes the test, he just requires a lot of "monitoring." At my last appointment, I was given the news that I would be induced 3 weeks early. Don't they think they could have told me this 7 MONTHS ago when they knew so that I could plan accordingly???

This past week, when I was given the news of the early arrival....I panicked! Since the appointment on Tuesday, I have cranked out 3 invite orders over 100. My thumbs are raw from the adhesive and my DVR is full of shows I have yet to catch up on.
Speaking of invites, they have taken over my dining room. I have 3-4 orders that cover my dining room table at all times. I have not seen the actual table in months. I also recently inherited a great antique hutch from my grandma. Within 1 week of receiving this table, it was covered with albums and invites. One day, this pile will consist of neatly stacked albums that are filled with past orders to be displayed at future wedding expos. Until then, it is a mess!

Because we would like to have our dining room back as well as our office, which will actually be turned into a guest bedroom, we are finishing our basement. Not only will we gain a full bathroom and extra living space, I am getting a complete, custom invitation studio! I can NOT wait. I will have 2 walls of cabinets, countertops galore, an island workstation and SPACE! The end is in sight. The front porch was just completed this weekend (we switched from a rotted wood porch to a concrete porch in order to prevent the leakage of water), the rough plumbing is done, the electrician is coming today to finish up and we ordered the flooring this weekend. The drywall will be done this coming week and within the next 2 weeks, we should have a floor and walls. However, in the meantime, this is what is looks like........CHAOS.

At this point, my life can be summed up by taking a glimpse into my car. 6 months ago, my car was spotless (my husband would disagree, but we have different interpretations of "spotless".) I have garage sale signs that have been in there for 4 weeks, spilled coffee on my seats, appointment reminders in the counsel (which didn't stop me from missing my appointment last week), every kind of fast food bag on the floor and plenty of empty water bottles (because I was told that I needed to drink more fluids), a reminder to "change oil soon" that flashes every time I turn on the car, leftover upholstery fabric from window bench cushions, a toilet waiting to be taken to the basement and tiles for the bathroom floor...both of which will probably stay in my car until it is time for installation.

So on the list for today...

1. Plant the annuals that have been sitting in the driveway for the past week
2. Put our front porch back together and put the furniture back
3. Fence off the dirt that was moved to the back yard (by the concrete people) because Dozer can't seem to keep his paws out of it.
4. Clean out the car and return it to it's "spotless" condition
5. Pedicure
6. Invites, invites, invites:)
